Learning to Dive Together 🐠
One of the most special moments from our recent pool sessions was seeing a young trainee diver learning to scuba dive alongside her mum, supported by our Diving Officer, Linda Brice. Sharing the experience together made those first underwater breaths feel less daunting and a lot more exciting.
Using the new equipment funded by the Tesco Stronger Starts grant — including high-quality BCDs, fins, and snorkels — helped both divers feel safe, comfortable, and confident in the water. With Linda’s calm guidance and encouragement, nerves quickly turned into smiles as skills improved and confidence grew.
Learning to dive as a family isn’t just about scuba skills; it’s about trust, teamwork, and shared achievement. Watching this young diver build confidence while diving with her mum was a wonderful reminder of why accessible, community-focused opportunities like this matter so much.
