Babbacombe – 10 August 2025

Today we have a very exciting yet apprehensive young diver as this is her first sea dive.

We all remember our first sea dive so we want everything to go well with plenty to see.

Babbacombe is beautifully flat, excellent conditions.

She was a pleasure to dive with, calm underwater and in control of her buoyancy.

Babbacombe marine life did not disappoint. Lobsters, spiny lobster, dogfish, bib, wrasse, tompot blennies as well as beautiful scenery.

The piste de resistance was spotting discarded scallops shells indicating an octopus was in the vicinity. There is was large and orange, one eye looking at us, breathing away hiding in between a square of rock.

When she surfaced and arrived back on shore, we were rewarded with a beaming smile from our new trainee ocean diver.

She thoroughly enjoyed her first sea dive experience. It makes all the training in the pool and theory lessons all worth while.
