Babbacombe beckons again, slight increase in temperature today. A cool 14 degrees.
A beautiful flat sea presented itself when we arrived. Three divers entered the water from the steps with a great deal of anticipation.
We were not disappointed. The crustaceans were out in force, spider crabs, velvet swimming crabs, small edible crabs, lobsters.
Lots of small fish including bib, a few wrasse. An abundance of pipefish today, 4 in total. We even found one of those Moroccan Octopus invading the South West, very well hidden between two rocks with only the tentacle suckers showing.
One of our divers has been wanting to see a cuttlefish since starting his diving more than 18 months ago but until now they have been elusive. Not today, he spotted his first cuttlefish and was over the moon with his discovery. A beautiful encounter.
This is what diving is all about, Marine life in the natural environment. It is a privilege.
