What This Funding Means for Our Project

Tiverton and District Sub Aqua Club aims to expand its outreach to local scout groups, schools, and youth organisations by providing comprehensive and accessible scuba diving education for young people.

With the help of the Tesco Community Grant, we will now be able to purchase scuba diving equipment specifically designed for children. Access to safe, high-quality, and appropriately sized equipment is essential for helping young divers feel confident, comfortable, and secure in the water.

Each piece of equipment plays a vital role in buoyancy, breathing, and overall comfort, making this investment crucial for delivering a safe, enjoyable, and well-supported introduction to scuba diving. Properly cared for, this equipment will benefit not only our current young divers but also future generations, creating a lasting positive impact within our community.

Why Scuba Diving Matters for Young People

Scuba diving offers far more than just an exciting activity. It promotes physical fitness, builds self-confidence, and nurtures a deeper understanding of marine environments. Through structured training and shared experiences, young divers develop valuable life skills such as teamwork, problem-solving, responsibility, and environmental stewardship.

By introducing young people to scuba diving in a safe and supportive way, we hope to inspire a lifelong respect for the underwater world and help cultivate a new generation of passionate underwater ambassadors who care about ocean conservation and preservation.

A huge thank you once again to Tesco, Groundwork UK, and everyone who supported our project by voting — your support is helping young people discover just how much they are capable of, both in and out of the water. 🤿💙
